Resolution은 하나의 structure을 다른 structure과 분리하여 볼 수 있는 능력이다. MRI에서, FOV가 고정되었을 때 resolution은 영상을 구성하는 pixel의 수로 결정된다. Resolution은 pixel의 갯수에 비례한다.
SNR은 resolution에 반비례한다. 그 이유는 SNR은 pixel size에 비례하기 때문이다. pixel size가 커질수록 하나의 pixel 당 signal의 크기가 커지기 때문에, SNR은 증가한다.
